TU Ultimate Kevlar Street n' Strip Clutch Kit (Stage IV)


TU "Ultimate Performance” Kevlar Street ‘N Strip (Stage IV) Clutch kits are made exclusively for us and to our unique specifications. Most other clutch shops prefer to only upgrade the disk leaving you with a stock pressure plate. They will not go the extra mile that we do because they simply fail to acknowledge the true potential of these vehicles.

Clutch Basics:

There are a few ways to enhance the performance of a clutch. One way is to increase the clamp load force by modifying the pressure plate. The other is by upgrading the disc material to increase the dynamic coefficient of friction. We combine the high torque capacity of our Stage IV (Black) modified pressure plates with the long life of our Kevlar disc to bring you a clutch that will support upwards of 413 Ft Lbs of torque (232mm disk) while still providing extended disc life. The materials used in the construction of our performance clutch kits were chosen to exceed the needs of a true Street n’ Strip Turbo-Dodge vehicle.

How do TU Kevlar clutch kits differ from our competitors:

· Retain Stock pedal feel
· Enhanced Torque Capacity by modifying PP fulcrum point
· Kevlar material lasts 5-10 times longer then Organic discs
· Coefficient of friction is approximately 30% higher then Organic discs
· TU disc pads are thicker then industry standard providing longer clutch life
· Pressure Plate contact surface is machined to a Stone Ground finish
· TU Black PP Kevlar disks are available in two sizes. For an additional 10% holding power go with the larger 232mm disk

Our Kevlar Pressure Plates are unique for many different reasons. First of all we change the pivot point to enhance clamping load force without increasing pedal pressure. We also machine the contact surface to a Stone Ground finish in order to extend the life of the Kevlar disc. Not only does this reduce disc wear but it provides maximum torque load capacity as well. It also provides a smoother clutch engagement with minimal chatter or shudder. TU does something else that most others don’t want to do. The wearable portion of our discs is 40% thicker then the industry standard. We do this to enhance clutch life and it’s why you cannot mix TU clutch kit pressure plates and discs with other brands. With proper break-in the low wear rate Kevlar material will prolong the life of your flywheel and pressure plate so you can spend more time behind the wheel of your TD vehicle then under it replacing parts. Kevlar clutches can be used in both Street and Racing applications as long as street tires are used.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For this clutch to work properly it is necessary to:
A. Have your flywheel machined to a stone ground surface. The flywheel surface MUST be as smooth as the pressure plate contact surface.
B. You must confirm that your input shaft bearing is within factory tolerances. Changing the pivot point of the pressure plate reduces plate lift so it is VERY important that you minimize disc wobble. This is a simple procedure. Contact us should you need assistance in doing this
